Remember Sandy v6

Welcome back to Remember Sandy website, in fact, do allow me to welcome you to version 6, and the transformation of this site has finally complete.

One of the major upgrade is that Remember Sandy v6 is now using valid XHTML and CSS. As many of the browser now support news feed, you can read the latest headlines using Atom and RSS.

It is still an English oriented Sandy Lam fans site, just like the old times, with translation for all major news. You can now find the old news by Categories, or by Monthly, or simply by the Search engine.

Like many other news blog out there, you can leave comments on each of the news without any registration whatsoever, it would be a great way to interact with other fans and me. So all you need is fill in your name and a valid e-mail then write your comments! Your e-mail is to prevent spam and any trouble maker out there, your e-mail is not going to be published.

Most of the content have been added moved, re-moved, arranged, re-arranged, and missing! Please be patient during the renovation process and hopefully the rest of the content will be updated soon.

In the latest issue of East Finder Magazine #705, it’s reported that in the second half of 2005, there will more singers from the old days coming back to stage or releasing a new record.

Sandy and Prudence Liew are mentioned. According to the article, Sandy is under Gold Label now, and the new Cantonese album is to be released in September produced by Mark Lui. However, rumor that they haven’t had time to go into the studio yet. The next concert (4 nights) is also arranged by Gold Label as well.

Prudence Liew came back last week (it would be last weekend (7-23/24) actually, and she is going to stay in Hong Kong for 4 weeks.) She is going to re-sing Eason Chan’s 2001 Cantonese release 大開眼戒 for Wyman Wong’s new lyrics compilation After Tan.

Tsunami voices

HOMEGROWN singers Kit Chan, Ho Yeow Sun and Joi Chua will record a song – for the first time together – to raise funds for the Asian tsunami re-building effort.

The Mandarin song – One Brick, One Tile – is in a compilation album titled Hands United. It is in support of the Habitat For Humanity Singapore’s effort to build homes for tsunami victims in Aceh.

The song is adapted from a tune written by local Malay artiste Jaliboy following the tragedy last December called Pancarkan Keihsanan (A Showcase Of Humanity).

Music Funky Monkeys Productions’ lyricist Xiaohan, composers Eric Ng and Jim Lim did the adaptation.
Two other versions of the song, in English and Tamil, also appear on the album.

More than 60 people, including artistes and musicians, worked on the album after Jaliboy invited other singers to record his song with him.

Launched last Friday, the album also features covers of hits by Stefanie Sun and Sandy Lam.

It goes on sale at $20 each at major record shops at the end of this month.
