Sandy’s Concert 2005 DVD, CD and S/L album are all on HMV Music Chart Top 40 at 10, 33, and 40 respectively. I guess this is not so bad, especially there aren’t much promotion for the concert related products.
The content in Jessica China Edition is a little different with the Hong Kong Edition. It mentioned the Cantonese album and the concert last year. Sandy also talked about the Mandarin album in which she is hoping to have a different sound compare to his previous works. In addition, they crossed out most of the love relationship paragraphs. *Thanks Oscar for the photos and info!
Sandy appeared on Jessica Hong Kong Feb issue and now on the cover of Jessica China Edition in March. The content is very much the same, yet they used another photo from the inside for the cover instead. You can click here to see the Hong Kong edition. The photo above is taken by a fan in Beijing, China.

A piece of an old new but related to the recent concert. Sandy used the latest sound system, NEXO GEO T, in her 20th anniversary concert, and this system, as described, is today’s most advanced, most efficient and most accurate sound reinforcement technology. Artists relied on this system including: great tenor Luciano Pavarotti, Oasis, Linkin Park, Moby, The White Stripes, David Gray, The Gipsy Kings and Tori Amos.
I don’t know much about all these hardwares, but thanks Sandy and her team for providing us the best sound we could have experienced at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
CHINA’S LARGEST-EVER GEO T SYSTEM FOR SANDY LAM
[ 11th Dec ‘05 ] China/Hong Kong GEO T,GEO S,ALPHA,PS15
Sandy Lam’s 20th anniversary tour sees the largest NEXO GEO T system ever assembled in Hong Kong and China. Her concerts were staged in the round, and feature several ‘firsts’ – it’s the first time a 4-sided GEO T system using eight arrays has been implemented here in the Hong Kong Coliseum, and the first time all the CD18s have been flown.
Chinese star Sandy Lam returned to the stage after a 4-year absence, filling the most important concert venue in southeast China. 20,000 fans packed the Hong Kong Coliseum on 4 consecutive nights.
The show was played ‘in the round’. Eight arrays of GEO T were flown, each comprising 6x GEO T4805s plus 3x T2815s. Over the square stage, this meant 2 arrays for each of the four sides of the room. CD18 SubBass units were also flown, 8x in total, 2x per side, situated right next to the GEO T array. The GEO Ts and CD18s were driven by 32x CAMCO V6 amplifiers. Front fill and stage monitoring was provided by 40x PS15 cabinets, also driven by CAMCO amps.
Equipment was provided by Top Plot International Ltd, with technical assistance from Francois Deffarges at NEXO. Michael Chow of Top Plot reports that some of the artists guest-starring in the Sandy Lam show are already asking for NEXO GEO T for their own concerts.
The original tends to be flat and lacking bass. Tired of listening to Double Mix and Grey MIx? Numerous elements have been added into this re-edited version, magically it turns out to be quite dynamic. The instrumental version demonstrates how much facelift that this track has been done. So dive in and drown into the world of Djax.
6th Pepsi Music Chart Awards nomination released. Sandy’s S/L is nominated for Best Female Singer (Cantonese) and Best Album (Cantonese). The presentation is going to be held in Shanghai on March 21, 2006.
Sandy won quite a few awards back in 2001 and 2002, including: [2001] Best Female Singer (Hong Kong/Taiwan) and Best Song (Hong Kong/Taiwan) for At Leave I’ve You; [2002] Best Female Singer/Song-writer (Hong Kong/Taiwan), Most Popular Female Singer (Taiwan), and Top 10 Song of the Year for Paper Plane.
Composer and arranger, Peter Kam, snatched the Silver Bear for Best Film Music for “Isabella” at the 56th Berlin Film Festival on Saturday. At the interview, he named Sandy as one of his most favorite singers.
