When Sandy first got into school, it was called Maryknoll Sisters’ School (瑪利諾中學) (MSS), and it was run by the Maryknoll Sisters from the States, it was the sister school of Maryknoll Convent School (瑪利諾書院) (MCS) in Kowloon Tong, MSS was then sold to the Columbian Sisters in the 80’s, and they decided to change the name to Marymount Secondary School (瑪利曼書院).

As I recall, Sandy graduated when it was still called Maryknoll Sisters’ School. We, as Maryknollers, those who were still at the school when the school was sold to Columbian Sisters, still call ourselves Maryknollers, instead of Marymounters, as it is called today. Most of us are very loyal to our school, and are very stubborn in saying that we graduated from Maryknoll Sisters’ School. So I guess Sandy is the same as us. We all love our old school very much!

Just on the side, Priscilla and Sandy wasn’t in the same class until Form 4, when we had to choose our subjects, we have English Literature (class A), Science (class B), Chinese Literature (class C) and Economics (class D). Apparently Sandy has chosen to study English Literature (class A), and so did Priscilla and that was when they were in the same class. Class A is the most difficult class to get in, as the English is our main teaching language, and our best subject. For Sandy to be able to be in English Literature class was really something, coz she wasn’t from Maryknoll Primary School (our sister primary school), I would imagine that it would be quite hard for her to catch up in English, but she did well and excel during years in MSS and hence landed her in the best class in the school.
